Introduction

The Panasonic TC-P42S2 ($849 MSRP) is a modestly priced plasma TV with several larger siblings in the same series. Low on frills, the TV does offer some great color performance, though it left us wanting for deeper blacks and a wider contrast ratio. If you're dead-set on plasma but don't have much to spend, this is definitely worth your investigation.
