LG continues to lead the pack in OLED televisions, displays capable of ultra-high contrast and infinitely deep shadow tones. But OLED isn't the only feather in LG's cap. This year at CES, the Korean tech giant has introduced a new lineup of "Super UHD" 4K LED TVs, so-named for their enhanced quantum dot color and HDR Plus capabilities. The company will also continue to deliver standard UHD and Full HD sets.

    TCL S4 LED TV review

Naturally, while some of LG's 2016 TV lineup will be on display during this year's show, quite a few models won't hit production until later this year. It's also clear that LG has all but abandoned the budget category in its quest for home theater supremacy. Already the only provider of OLED, LG is now flexing muscles in the LED LCD category with Super UHD.

As always, be sure to check back later in the year for more information on new TVs, updated pricing, and links to our first impressions and full reviews of LG's 2016 TVs.

OLED TVs

G6 Series (OLED77G6 & OLED65G6)

{{ amazon name="LG Electronics OLED65E6P (2016 Model)", asin="B019O5F86W", align="right" }}

The G6 is LG's top-of-the-line 4K OLED TV for 2016. Bundled with the company's webOS 3.0 platform, and delivering HDR Pro and Color Prime plus performance, the G6 should deliver the finest contrast, color, and overall performance with all the bells and whistles. Techy readers, take note of the TV's full 10-bit compatibility, including the ability to receive a BT.2020 (Rec.2020) signal.

Read our review of the LG G6 Series.

KEY SPECS: • 77-inch or 65-inch flat, glass body & soundbar base • OLED panel technology with 4K resolution • webOS 3.0 & updated Magic Remote • Full 10-bit panel and processing • Up to 99% DCI-P3 color space coverage • 65-inch MSRP: $7,999; 77-inch MSRP: $24,999

B6 Series (OLED65B6)

The B6 series may be a bit of a step-down from the flagship G6, but it's no less full-featured. LG touts a "Blade Slim" design for this 65-inch 4K set, emphasizing the TV's hyper-thin edges and design focus. But as an OLED, the B6 also delivers supreme black levels, contrast, and vibrant color production, and includes LG's new webOS 3.0 platform with 4K streaming and the new Magic Remote.

KEY SPECS: • 65-inch flat, Blade Slim OLED TV • 4K/UHD Resolution • WebOS 3.0 & updated Magic Remote • Full 10-bit panel and processing • Up to 99% DCI-P3 color space coverage • Price pending

E6 Series (OLED65E6 & OLED55E6)

{{ amazon name="LG Electronics OLED65E6P (2016 Model)", asin="B019O5F86W", align="right" }}

Like the G6, the E6 Series OLED TVs feature a built-in stand/soundbar, but rather than stowing the electronics and hookups in their base, they feature a bulkier, more traditional rear casing design that should make them a little cheaper. From a performance standpoint, the E6 Series still delivers LG's "HDR Pro" dynamic performance and up to 99% of the DCI-P3 color space. It's the spiritual successor to last year's EF9500.

KEY SPECS: • 65-inch flat "Picture-on-Glass" design • 4K/UHD resolution • WebOS 3.0 & updated Magic Remote • Full 10-bit panel and processing • Up to 99% DCI-P3 color space coverage • Price pending

C6 Series (OLED65C6 & OLED55C6)

{{ amazon name="LG Electronics OLED55C6P (2016 Model)", asin="B01CDDTZMK", align="right" }}

The C6 Series stands in as the premier curved OLED in LG's 2016 lineup, and it's the clear follow-up to last year's EG9600. However, outside of the curvy screen, it's identical to the E6 Series in terms of performance, offering up key features like webOS 3.0, 4K resolution, 10-bit panel/processing, and virtually full coverage of the DCI-P3 color space.

KEY SPECS: • 65-inch (OLED65C6P), $5,999; 55-inch or 55-inch curved screen • 4K/UHD resolution • WebOS 3.0 & updated Magic Remote • Full 10-bit panel and processing • Up to 99% DCI-P3 color space coverage

EG9100 Series (55EG9100)

{{amazon name="LG Electronics 55EG9100 (2015 Model)", asin="B0148OZNKK", align="right"}}

For budget OLED shoppers, last year's 55-inch EG9100 will be carried over into the new year. Unlike the other LG OLED models, the EG9100 is a Full HD (1080p) set with a price point that reflects its slightly simplified feature set. The EG9100 still delivers excellent contrast and color production, however, in-line with expected performance from OLED sets.

KEY SPECS: • 55-inch Full HD OLED TV • webOS 2.0 • Magic Remote (2015 version) • MSRP $1,999

8K TVs

UH9800 Series (98UH9800)

This 98-inch monster from LG also features a ludicrous pixel count. Boasting a native 8K resolution, the full-array UH9800 steps right past mere 4K—and just when we were getting used to it, too. Naturally, it's also High Dynamic Range (HDR) compatible, and packs LG's webOS 3.0 smart platform. Tech geeks should be especially excited about the UH9800's 240 LED blocks, which are spread behind an IPS panel that can hit 90% of the DCI-P3 color initiative.

KEY SPECS: • 98-inch Direct-LED • 8K resolution with 240 LED blocks • HDR compatible via True Black Control & ULTRA Luminance • webOS 3.0 & updated Magic Remote • Over 90% DCI-P3 color space coverage • Price pending

Super UHD TVs

UH9500 Series (65UH9500)

{{ amazon name="LG Electronics 65UH9500 (2016 Model)", asin="B01C9CYISG", align="right" }}

The flagship of LG's Super UHD line, the 65-inch UH9500 delivers plenty of cutting-edge features like 4K resolution, HDR compatibility, enhanced color filters, and the webOS 3.0 smart platform. While it doesn't deliver quite the same color coverage as the LG's 4K OLED sets, the UH9500 still covers over 90% of DCI-P3. Finally, the screen is wrapped in super-slim bezels and strikes a stylish profile at just 6.6mm thick.

KEY SPECS: • 65-inch (65UH9500), $3,999; 86-inch (86UH9500), $9,999 • 4K resolution with IPS panel • ColorPrime plus, improved contrast dimming • HDR-compatible • webOS 3.0 & updated Magic Remote • Over 90% DCI-P3 color space coverage

UH8500 Series

{{ amazon name="LG Electronics 65UH8500 (2016 Model)", asin="B019O5F8CQ", align="right" }}

The UH8500 series TVs are available in the widest range of sizes out of LG's Super UHD lineup: 49-, 55-, 60-, 65-, and 75-inch sizes will be available over the course of 2016. This middle tier of Super UHD TVs offers the full 4K/UHD and HDR Plus (Dolby Vision & HDR) experience of the UH9500, but at a lower price point and without some of the flagship series' bells and whistles.

KEY SPECS: • 55-inch (55UH8500), $1,999; 60-inch (60UH9500), $2,299; 65-inch (65UH8500), $2,999; 75-inch (75UH8500), $4,999 • 4K resolution with IPS panel • Color Prime with improved contrast dimming • HDR/Dolby Vision compatible • Prices pending

UH7500 Series (65UH7500)

While it's a little lower on the ladder than the UH9500 flagship and UH8500 sets, the 65-inch UH7500 still bears the Super UHD badge. Featuring a "Cinema Screen" bezel-less design and the updated webOS 3.0 platform, the UH7500 keeps an eye on fashion. But its "RGBW" sub-pixel array is probably its standout feature, as it allows the TV to circulate sub-pixel combinations and achieve 4K resolution while drastically reducing energy requirements.

KEY SPECS: • "RGBW" array captures 4K resolution while reducing energy requirements • 65-inch LED LCD "Cinema Screen" design • 4K resolution with IPS panel • Support for HDR (High Dynamic Range) playback • webOS 3.0 & updated Magic Remote • Price pending
