It's press day here at CES 2014, and LG's conference has concluded. The company drew oohs and ahhs with its glitzy lineup of UHD and OLED TVs, as well as the recently-revealed WebOS smart platform.

This year, LG took a very aggressive approach to CES by revealing a healthy dose of its high-end TV products prior to the show (click here for our breakdown of the company's full lineup).

One immediate highlight of the show was seeing LG's 77-inch UHD OLED TV in person.

The 3,840 x 2,160 native resolution OLED is arguably one of the most advanced in the world, and the demo unit at the press conference certainly looked the part. Deep blacks and vibrant colors are already a staple of OLEDs, but the added UHD definition makes an appreciable difference in viewer immersion. We've tested both 4K sets and OLEDs, but the two combined will certainly be a force to be reckoned with.

Obviously, we'll need to get this set into our labs before we can pass judgment, but our first impressions are very positive.

OLED's one drawback last year was in motion performance, but LG's UHD OLED exhibited no tearing, artifacting, or motion-blur—at least not during the sample footage. Advances in panel refresh rate since 2013 could see OLED TVs faithfully replacing and surpassing history's best plasma panels.
