Can Sci-Fi Movies Predict the Future of TV Technology?

There are always high-tech TVs in science fiction films. Which movies made the most outlandish predictions, and which ones guessed right?

Recommendations are independently chosen by Reviewed's editors. Purchases made through the links below may earn us and our publishing partners a commission.

We assume Charlie and the Chocolate Factory takes place in the near-future, making the movie's predictions seem far-fetched at best. We'd love to be able to eat chocolate right out of our TV..._but come on_! Being able to transmit food through TV in our time would require advanced teleportation research rather than Wonka magic.

Our world without Wonka tried out Smell-O-Vision in cinemas back in 1960, but the technology was nowhere near ready. We don't think taste or smell will be integrated into televisions in our lifetime, but maybe science will prove us wrong.
