Editorial Note: This is a review of the Sony KDL-32EX600. Test results are for this model, but should indicate the general performance of other sizes in the xxEX600 series. The xxEX600 series includes the following models: KDL-32EX600, KDL-40EX600, KDL-46EX600.  Read here for more details on series differences.
{{article.attachments['Sony-KDL-32EX600-intro.jpg']}} The Sony KDL-32EX600 ($899 MSRP and much cheaper online) offers a good balance between price and performance, especially if you can find it on sale somewhere in the depths of the internet. It didn't excel in any test, but it didn't slouch anywhere either, and that's a lot more than we can say about some TVs. Sure, the contrast ratio was less than stellar, but we'd take it any day over a TV that's too aggressive on contrast while sacrificing so many other aspects that make up picture quality.  The downside is pretty cutting, though. The next series up in the Sony line, the EX700s, offer far more features for virtually the same price. All those internet and DLNA features missing on the 32EX600 – you can find them on the 32EX700. There's also the fact that the EX700 performance is as good or better in most regards. It might come down to a matter of what's left on the shelf when it's time to buy, or which has the better sale price.
