What can we say, we love video games along with the rest of the other electronics we review. This year has been a great year for enthusiasts with all of the new consoles that are and have been released. One of the latest consoles to fulfill that need to game is the Nvidia Shield, but there are other options for the road or the living room that you can get for cheap this weekend. Check out some of our best bets below.

Nvidia Shield

The Nvidia Shield is one of the newest portable video game consoles on the market, and it's definitely one of the most intriguing. Nvidia being one of the top graphics card manufacturers also helps to add to the Shield's reputation and the hype surrounding it. This handheld can play Android and PC games (over WiFi) and is powered by the powerful Nvidia Tegra 4 processor. It can't do much else besides play games, but that's what makes it so appealing to gamers. Newegg is offering the handheld console for $269 after using the coupon code "VME10BTS" at checkout, along with free shipping. Customers also receive a Newegg Eggies sweepstakes coupon, which gives you the chance to win two VIP passes to Newegg's 2014 award show.

Retro Duo Portable NES/SNES Game System

However, if you look down on the latest technology of the Shield, you might want something a little more retro, like this portable console that plays NES and SNES game cartridges. For only $72 on Amazon with free shipping, you can relive the glory days of video games on the road. If you don't have your old cartridges, you can search your local garage sales and eBay. There are plenty of options for being nostalgic.

Alienware M18x Gaming Laptop

The Nvidia Shield can play your PC games, or you can use an actual PC (experts say it's the best way to play PC games). Dell's Alienware brand has been around a long time, and reputably makes hulking, powerful machines. They're expensive, but worth it if you have the money to kill. The M18x gaming laptop, which comes with an Intel Core i7 processor, the possibility of up to 32GB of RAM, and other customizable specs. Luckily for the gamer who likes to spend, the system is on sale starting at $2,769 with free shipping.

Saints Row IV for PlayStation 3

One of the newest triple-A releases is Saints Row IV, which is the latest installment in the absurd open-world franchise that has you playing as a criminal working to build an empire. However, the difference with this new release is that you get to become the President of the United States. Just because you can. You can get it on sale at Gamestop for $44 after using the coupon code "GUST15" at checkout.

PlayStation 3 Grand Theft Auto V Bundle

While the PlayStation 4 is all set to be released in November, you can still benefit from the now-antiquated but still technologically-sound PlayStation 3, which you can get at fairly low prices from most retailers. You can try to get a bundle for the best value, like this Grand Theft Auto V pack, which comes with a 500GB PlayStation 3 as well as the newest addition to the popular franchise. You can pre-order it from Newegg and receive a $10 credit to be used towards a future purchase.
