LG's 2014 International CES press conference has concluded, and one of the biggest announcements came from Reed Hastings, president and CEO of Netflix. The two companies have entered into a partnership to bring Netflix's 4K streaming directly to the hardware and software suite of LG's WebOS TVs.

According to Hastings, Netflix will be "among the first to deliver Ultra HD 4K to consumers." LG's UHD WebOS TVs are HEVC (High Efficiency Video Coding) and HDCP 2.2 compliant, meaning they are already prepared to receive streaming- and cable-based native 4K content as soon as it is available.

While Netflix 4K streaming won't be immediately available, the functionality has been confirmed for 2014.
