The new Super UHD TVs include the UH9500, UH8500, and UH7700 series, with sizes ranging from the modest 49-inch UH7700 up to the gargantuan 86-inch UH9500. LG has also teased a 98-inch 8K model, the UH9800, though no other information has been released.

With HDR Plus, these Super UHD models will be able to decode and display so-called "High Dynamic Range" content, which makes use of greatly improved brightness and contrast. On the color side, LG's Color Prime technology delivers a respectable increase in color saturation and scope, making for picture quality that should notably outpace traditional HD sets.

Specifically, these Super UHD TVs are slated to deliver up to 90% of the DCI-P3 color gamut—the next step in color performance beyond full-HD TV. The UH9500/UH8500 TVs are also fully 10-bit compatible, both in native panel ability and in source processing.

While LG hasn't announced pricing or availability for the Super UHD sets yet, these robust 4K TVs will be on display at LG's booth during next week's trade show in Las Vegas. Stay tuned for full coverage of LG's 2016 TV lineup and our hands-on, first impressions reviews.
