Summer means enjoying the outdoors, but sometimes you want to just sit back and relax in front of the TV. Now is one of the best times to either upgrade your existing entertainment system or get a whole new one because many retailers are celebrating Independence Day with discounts on even some high-end TVs.
Below are just a handful of some of the deals we've found. Be sure to click around to explore the blowouts in-depth.
Best Buy's Fourth of July sale discounts a number of electronics like the LG 32-inch LN5300 LED TV, which is $100 off the list price. We haven't yet reviewed this TV so we can't attest to its quality, but the customer reviews are mostly positive. It's a no-frills model with two HDMI ports, seven picture modes, and 1080p resolution. Be sure to act fast if you're interested: this deal ends on July 4.
Dell Home's Fourth of July sale takes up to 75 percent off select electronics and accessories and includes free shipping. One deal that stands out is the LG 60-inch PN5300 plasma TV, which is on sale for $200 off. We haven't yet reviewed this product, so we can't attest to its quality, but this is one tempting sales tag for a no-frills plasma—this deal might be worth some research.
The Best Buy Sparkling Independence Day sale—which ends on Saturday—has discounts on a number of electronics, including the Insignia NS-55L260A13 55-inch LCD TV, which is priced at $499 or $300 off the list price. It has 1080p resolution, three HDMI ports, a high contrast ratio, and not much else in terms of features. However, it's difficult to find a large LCD for under $500, so this is a steal.
Adorama has a number of great deals on electronics for the Fourth of July. Despite the retailer being known for cameras, they have some appealing discounts on televisions. For example, you can get a free HW-F450 sound bar system with the purchase of any Samsung F7500 or F8000 series TV, which are also on sale. One such deal is for the Samsung UN46F7500 3D LED Smart TV. This 46-inch model comes with four pairs of 3D glasses and a smart touch remote control.
